Ultima IX Freeform Savegame

   Posted by: Withstand the Fury Dragon   in U9 Utilities, Ultima 9

Produced by: Edward Pinniger
Releases:
* Freeform Savegame (805.2 KiB, 37 hits)

An interesting savegame for . The creator has travelled through a fair bit of the map using the fly cheat and finished a number of the column quests (recovering the glyphs in the process) without speaking to NPCs along the way, thereby avoiding tripping plot triggers as much as possible. The Terfin/Bucanneer’s Den subplot has been completed so as to grant the player access to Raven’s ship.

Essentially, some of the game has already been completed (but the player starts on the Britain docks with little or no equipment) but the remainder of the game (a fair chunk) is now effectively non-linear, and Britannia is yours to explore!

I apologize; it does not in fact work right now, because I have not yet gotten this far in my efforts to restore the downloads to working order.

If anyone wants this, make sure I have a valid email address for you.

Hello again, the archive seems to be corrupt. I’ve attempted to download it on two different computers.

Oh FFS.

Hang on, let me see if I can figure this out.

The archive works now which is great. The ship is located next to a beach with a few of the sigils and glyphs around correct? The save game crashes when I try to load it, but I think this is a problem with my computer, it’s been having a lot of random crashes…

That’s not good.

I can only assume that you have either the 1.18 or 1.19 patch installed? That will do about as much as can be done to improve the game’s stability. I actually HAVE to use the 1.19 patch on my computer; the game won’t load with any other patch version.

I guess the other issue COULD be what version of the game created the savegame file here. I wonder if savegames are version-dependent?

Time to investigate!

It really was just my computer. Yes I have official and unofficial patch, plus monster, dialogue and economy patch. Sometimes the game just starts crashing in certain places, so I just play a different save for a while and then come back and it seems fine…
This save game works fine for me now ^_^

Thank you!
