Ultima IX: Redemption is being developed with the Morrowind: The Elder Scrolls engine, featuring a totally original plot, and original gameplay. This remake of Ultima 9 is planned to live up to the Ultima greatness that the original game failed to achieve. It will feature total freedom of doing good or evil (which the original didn’t grant) as well as multiple endings.
NOTE: As of Sept. 18, 2004, this project and The New King have become one unified effort under the direction of Corv. The New King will be the direct sequel to Redemption.

And all continues to go well for the project! We’re at about 65% complete and edging toward 70%. Not at all bad considering the half dozen hard drive failures of various team members throughout the last few years.

And how close to releasing a demo? Or another movie of what you’ve done so far?

Indeed, how close might a demo be, Haggis?
That is great news overall though — excellent progress! And that in spite of drive failures. I know and hate such things, as Lost Sosaria has suffered its share.

@Sslaxx: Our cinematic sequence artist has been missing for awhile. We do have the introduction cutscene and some others, but those won’t be release before the game is done. Given Corv’s job and his becoming a father soon, I will look into re-establishing this contact.
@WtFD: The progress has been quite good. I think our 3D artist and the new writers helped to re-stimulate us all, as well as the main plot coming to a close in the next 3-6 months.
Management decided that a demo would slow down production. Originally, we thought of isolating New Magincia and allowing the Avatar to solve the quest there. As it is, we want to try to get the game out by the end of 2008.
