Here’s some news to cheer you up after the previous post about EA. Someone by the (nick)name of Hexxxer contacted me to let me know of a project he’s involved in to produce high resolution scans of game box covers and disc labels. He is working, presently, on the Ultima Collection, Ultima IX, the Underworld Collection, and the Worlds of Ultima titles.

Currently, only the Ultima Collection box has been scanned in, but the reproduction is very high quality (all covers are 300 dpi scans).

This patch upgrades Ultima 8 to version 2.12 and makes several bug fixes and enhancements. It adds the Birthplace of Moriens (which had previously been absent), allows for targeted jumping (and also halts all floating platforms!) and introduces a number of shortcut keys.

If you have the Ultima Collection CD, you probably won’t need this patch. There are three versions: English, French, and German.
