Since I’ll be spending most of today and tomorrow in the air, as it were, there probably won’t be much in the way of other articles posted to the site. That said, I’ll try and check comments from time to time, and will have access to email whilst in airports. Provided said airports offer free wifi. Or if the planes do. I’m bound for Saudi Arabia this time; surely Emirates planes offer in-flight internet service?
That said, here’s a couple of amusing things I’ve tripped over in the last few hours.
A brief history of black pepper.
Pepper — black peppercorns — are from a plant native to India, and are actually the pits of a particular kind of berry. They have been used as a seasoning since…well, a long time ago, and were even used as part of the mummification process in some cultures.
In addition to being a wanted terrorist, Osama was also “that” neighbor.
You know…the one who always had the locked yard who never returned the balls you accidentally kicked over the fence?
Yeah. He was that guy.
Low-salt diets are ineffective at preventing heart attacks & strokes.
Indeed, such diets may actually boost the risk of such conditions.
The “situation room” photograph that has been released is really quite a compelling photograph, especially for both Hillary Clinton’s expression of shock (which really sells the picture) and for Obama’s expression of…consternation, I suppose (evidently, he was fully briefed on the operation at the very last minute, after it had started, after being pulled from a game of golf).
But of course, this being the Internet, it has become fodder for the LOLphoto meme-makers.
Even without sound, this is hilarious!
“You suck at cooking. You f#ck up rice. You think Cayenne is that fat b!tch from around the way and Old Bay is the piece of sh$t that keeps calling the cops on you and your boys. Stop being such a f&cking loser and grow a brain. Cooking is easy as sh*t. Learn it.”
Tonight’s post brought to you by…I can’t…there’s not…what…uh:
