Eriadain was a module for BioWare’s Neverwinter Nights that is based on the original storyline of Ultima 9: Ascension. This original storyline, also known as the Bob White Plot, was a much larger, more detailed plot that remained much more true to the Ultima tradition and the history of the series.
Moa Dragon has built a sizeable portion of the necessary map for this project, including much of the overworld and all of the dungeons. He has also implemented many of the scripts, although many of these are untested. Dialogues are incomplete and marked with placeholder conversations for the most part. The released module above should not be considered a demo for these reasons.
Sadly, Moa Dragon stopped working on Eriadain some time ago. However, he very enthusiastically shared the sum total of his completed work with Aiera in the hopes that someone might wish to pick up the module and run with it in the future.

I’m curious - this all seems rather pointless without the original design documentation. Does it exist?

It does, and I have it. I will release it if asked, but I don’t put it into the public domain.

I might one day try to work to complete this project, but NWN isn’t that good platform since you have to keep the DnD rules, unlike with Dungeon Siege for example. It really is a shame how origin and EA (!!) f***ed up with U9. It could have been so much better…
And since I’m now working with my thesis and I have no time, I’m unable to put any effort to it. But one day I’m sure I’ll atleast try to make a remake of Ultima IV or Ultima IX.

The one nice thing about NWN is that there are a lot of custom content and scripting packages for it (hak paks). I’m still investigating these for my reboot of Lost Sosaria, but there may be one that allows for a modification of the stats system.
Failing that, it’s still a decent engine overall, even though it’s AD&D. It’s easy and quick to build in, and easy enough to script if you have the proper utilities for it.

Short word to Ergonpandilus, I am considering getting back to the project slowly (and silently) within the next couple of weeks. I’m considering episodic format.

If yer needs a website, I have PLENTY OF SPACE for you.
You know, rather than using something like Geocities or Lycos again. No pop-ups, unlimited (well, several hundred GB, at any rate) space, and a content manager of your choice is all I have to offer.

There shall be no website until the first episode (out of planned
is released, and if I make a site, it’ll be very simple
Too much ambition and hype did the project no good, and I shall not make that mistake again;
Still, considering your offer and will be sure to contact you when needed.
Thanks a lot !

No worries. Let me know if you want the space when you need a web presence!
