This intriguing project was making use of an Ultima Online FreeShard to re-tell the story, in an online-game format, of Ultima 3.
As proven by Ultima Legacy, the Ultima Online world can be modified easily enough, and so this development team had begun to change the world map of whichever UO version they were using (one assumes it would be one of the more current incarnations) to be Britannia, circa Ultima 3, and had begun implementing the plot of that classic game into their world.
Unfortunately, the project seems to have stopped development, as there has been no “news” from the team since 2005, and they have not released any game files or demos. The project maps were completed, however, and can be purchased for a nominal fee.

Actually the Ultima 3 Online world was fully completed, and is available on my website for anyone interested in it.
It’s fully completed, and fully decorated. Can be used to create a free shard using the Ultima III world os Sosaria.
We didn’t get around to building an actual free shard due to a member of the team causing some difficulty. But the world is 100% completed and there for others to continue on with.
