New EUO Mapset

Posted by: wtf_dragon   in Site News

— the free, online multiplayer RPG that draws heavy inspiration from earlier games — has seen a large update just recently:

Some big changes: Added a huge mapset expansion based around a new mini-continent called Maeondir, mostly aimed at the lvl 40+ set. Also converted the client to 800×600 and added custom skins support.

Screenshots of the new continent can be viewed here.

Since the update in part pertains to a modification to the game client, I have uploaded the latest version of the game’s installer here on the site, and it can be downloaded at the project entry. Note that this updated seems only to pertain to the game’s client, and not its client.

Oh, how I wish they would bring this game for Mac OS X *sigh*

Heh…yes, that’s true. But then too…it’s not like EUO’s graphics are “hardcore 3D,” is it? Surely some kind of emulator would serve well here? I’ve got VirtualPC myself, and I think I may give EUO a try running under that environment. That and DOSBox.

Right, thats what I did yesterday – I downloaded VirtualBox2 and installed an old Windows 2000 with that – works fine on my Intel MacBook here… so EUO, here I come again!

Well, didn’t I just learn something new. :) I’d never heard of VirtualBox before today. Perhaps I will download it and give it a performance test against VirtualPC.

Sounds, like you got a G4-Mac, or is there a VirtualPC in Universal Binary? I think VirtualBox is for Intel-Macs (and other platforms like Linux and Windows afaik).
EUO by the way doing fine except the CPU-Load wich goes as high as 75% – I guess thats due to the lack of graphic power on the MacBook. Due to that the Cooler turns on and makes some noise during the play.

If you ever play EUO, what is your char called?

Yes, you are right — I missed that detail.

I can’t remember my old EUO account info. Time for a new one, if I can find time to play.
